Alison Stewart will be exhibiting oil paintings and mixed media works on paper. The focus will be on things that grow in the garden.
Alison has developed a new body of work since moving to her home and studio in Portobello. She uses a variety of materials to explore the subject matter of apples, pears, house plants and trees, their connection being they are growing or have been grown. This marks a new direction from her previous work which had an emphasis on still life and domestic interiors. Previous and current paintings share an interest in surface and composition.
Alison has a MA in Psychology from St Andrews University and a BA in Ceramics from Camberwell College of Art.
