In submitting your application you agree to the following terms:
- If participating as an Art House, to have your venue open: Saturday & Sunday, both weekends 10am-6pm
- Should last minute changes arise requiring you to temporarily close your venue across this time, you agree to clearly notify visitors at your venue, as well as inform the Art Walk team beforehand (by emailing weekends@artwalkprojects.co.uk)
- Each participant is responsible for ensuring their details are correct on the application form submitted. Art Walk Projects accepts no liability for any errors or omissions in its advertising or promotional material, and reserves the right to exclude, edit or decline any content deemed to be inappropriate.
- Committee member Jenny Martin will check with all participants on final copy before going to print.
- All fees must be paid in full by 31st May. Failure to do so will result in your application being withdrawn.
- For Art House artists – You give approval to paying a commission of 10% for sales received over £2,000 obtained in your Art House through the Art Walk Weekends period. This is applicable on the collective amount received in sales in the Art House (whether the venue hosts 1 artist, is a shared house, or collective).
- For Art in Shops artists – Artists exhibiting in local shops or cafes agree to paying a commission of 10% to the shop or venue hosting their work, on sales incurred through the festival.
- We will be continuing our Friends Membership Scheme this year. This enables members to receive a 10% discount on purchases made at any of the Art Houses. Based on previous years, we don’t envisage a high signup of members, though it has proved a good way to encourage sales.
- Art Walk Projects accepts no liability for damage to, or loss of, work, equipment or other property to or in the care of members or the visiting public or for injuries sustained by members, the visiting public or by any other person at the venue, whether exhibiting at their own venue or that of others.
- Participants must ensure that they have in place relevant public liability insurance. If you don’t already have this in place we recommend artist membership at Artists Information Co which includes insurance.
- Cancellation Guidelines: Should an artist need to cancel for their own reason, cancellation received in writing prior to 15th June will receive a full refund, with any cancellations from 16th June-30th July being offered a 50% refund.
- Art Walk Weekends is not responsible for any losses resulting from cancellation of the event, though will seek to reimburse fees wherever possible.
Art Walk Weekends (formerly known as Art Walk Porty) is produced by Art Walk Projects, community interest company SC525677, alongside a Festival Organising Committee of local members.
