Sun 7th, 2pm: Junk modelling workshop with Becka Gauld
Becka leads a mini beast junk modelling workshop, involving a craft session creating snails, spiders and other beasties to take home as your own art piece. Suitable for all ages. Free, no need to book.

All weekend: Refreshments and crafty play.
Tea, coffee and cake available in the garden for a donation to Refugee Sanctuary Scotland. Also clay and art materials to play with for adults and kids.

Becca’s unusual insect, spider and cobweb creations are informed by her background in ecology and range in size from large 3D wall pieces to intricate jewellery.

Becka has been making and selling her insects, spiders and cobwebs for over 20 years. She creates them from scratch with a soldering iron from silver plated copper wire, glass, gemstones, driftwood and sheet copper. She creates them in the form of wall pieces or wearable art.

She is thrilled to be showing her work in the beautiful garden of potter Michelle Lowe as her creatures really come to life in such wonderful natural surroundings.

Becka studied Ecology at degree level so a basis in anatomical accuracy is important in her work. People sometimes complain that her creations have an unnerving sense of life! She often gets commissions from Entomologists for unusual species.

Becka loves sharing her fascination with nature and will be running one of her minibeast based kids crafting workshops on Sunday afternoon (full details at top of page) and have a minibeast quiz available throughout the weekend.
