Solen and Ailsa’s multidisciplinary practices move fluidly between visual art, commercial work; workshops; and performative events. Valuing process and collaboration, they use creativity as a tool for exploration, expression, healing, and connection.
Solen’s practice encompasses digital and analogue photography, written word, film and mixed media collage. Their work centres on creative play as a method of exploring and transmuting difficult emotions and past experiences along with connection to self, others and nature.
Guided by play and instinct, Ailsa recontextualises materials from diverse sources to create collages, scripts, images, and immersive experiences that blend art with healing, fostering a dialogue that connects materials, body, emotion, and nature.
Their collaborative work for Art Walk Porty includes collage and photographic prints.
