Alex Hunsley creates mathematical Million Point Sculptures (digital archival prints), Time-twister videos (experimental films that swap space and time); and morphing tessellations.
He works with unusual perspectives and frames of reference to provide unfamiliar views of familiar things. For example his work explores custom software processing of everyday footage to highlight the curious link between time and space. Alex also produces archival digital prints of ‘found’ mathematical art in Million Point Sculptures, where a kind of extreme pointillism renders images of ghostly shapes. Also with a mathematical and geometrical slant, Alex produces morphing tessellations redolent of M C Escher.
